No Child...

If you missed her last show, don't make the same mistake again.  She is fantastic and, she speaks the truth about education today.

NO CHILD...

Obie Award-winning actress and solo performer Nilaja Sun will return to Barrow Street Theatre in her Off Broadway play No Child... which began performances at BST in 2006 and ran for 311 performances, playing to sold-out audiences for over a year.

No Child... is an exploration of the New York City public school system, in which Sun transforms with rapid-fire precision into the teachers, students, parents administrators, janitors and security guards who inhabit our schools and shape the future of America, making this play one of the most acclaimed theatrical events in recent years.

Dear Ms. PO,
First I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to you and your family during this time of loss. What your students did for you was nothing short of amazing. How they responded to your news just goes to show how much of a positive impact you've had on their lives.

I've become a regular follower/reader of your blog. I just finished my first year of teaching, but my one-year contract was not renewed thanks to "LIFO." This is a blessing in disguise though. I just finished watching "The Lottery" and "Waiting for Superman." There are a few posts of yours I cannot read (those posted on http://packeminhstheblog.blogspot.com/). May I please have permission to access that blog? I wish I could write as boldly, openly, and honestly as you do about education today.

"LIFO" might have cost you a job now, but it will protect you in the long run. No matter what you think, teachers need it, and deserve it. Hopefully a new job will open up for you.
