It's A Whole Different World Today

Girl 1:  Ms, don't tell me you didn't text when you were in school.

Girl 2:  There were no cell phones or texts when she went to school.

Girl 1:  Then how did she ever make plans to meet her friends?

Thank goodness no one answered that I didn't have any when I was their age.

I never texted when I was in high school either, nor did I have a cell phone and that was in 1996 through 1999.

However, 2 years ago I was talking to my pre-class about videos and I said I use a VCR. They asked me, "What is that?".

I used game cartridges and play video games on my father's old Texas Instrument computer (that was before he bought the IBM).
Not to mention big cartridges from Atari and Nintendo. I wonder if all of this could be in the Smithsonian now.
