Department Meetings Tomorrow

Do we go armed, ready for battle?  Will this be enough to thwart the mighty foe?

Will the bashing continue or will there be a temporary truce?

Who will be the next teacher preyed upon?

Sounds completely unproductive, non-conducive and completely unprofessional....gee, when will the DOE officials start going after administrators who can not 'get the job done'?

DOE officials don't care about AP's, only the teachers. AP's can be as unprofessional as they please, arrogant, or downright stupid, and it makes no difference. The DOE likes incompetent administrators since it diverts attention from how the central DOE ("Tweed") is a scam, a contract mill, and an abject failure at educating kids. It's just so easy to blame teachers, especially when you have the press in your pocket.

I think it was Norm's blog where I read that the DoE hires Leadership principals in schools not to help the schools, but to close them. I have worked with both horrible and great administrators, but those that know how to focus in on what's good are the ones that get the best results.

I actually worked in 1 of Blomberg's schools that was shut down. (I took over a leave replacement for a 3 grade CTT). It definitely had numerous problems, but did the administration actually take of the serious concerns? No. They swept it under the rug and cared more about what was on the bulletin boards rather than the safety and discipline. (This was a Pre-K to 8 school).

The second school I worked in was a little bit better. Great teachers who really care and try to make the best out of the DOE's regime.
I was permanently employed there and taught pre-kindergarten. However, the issues and concerns that need to be fixed in this school are all on this principal's lack of leadership qualities. This principal cares more about the appearance of everything rather than philosophy and process of learning.

(She is also extremely ignorant. All of the teachers are more competent and experienced in their practices than this woman.)
