That's Not Right

A boy commented on my wedding ring and then asked me why I don't always wear the same one all the time. I told him I change rings to match the husband I am living with. He just looked at me, shook his head and said, "Ms, that is not right."

Too bad he doesn't take other things I say so serious. If he spent as much time on school work as he does on my jewelry, he might actually be passing the class.

Two of my students yesterday were trying to figure out if I was PREGNANT.....yeah I'm recently married, but I've weighed the same amount for the whole time I've worked there.

Yet another shining moment in elementary school....teaching guided reading and one kid asks me "Do you trim your nose hairs?"

I had one charmer ask me today if I'd give him my wedding ring so he could hawk it for the money.

I get this all the time too. Just when I think I'm really smokin' on my lesson, someone will raise their hand and randomly ask things like, "Miss, do you wear contacts?" or "Miss did you get a haircut?"

I LOVE your response! That's hilarious! Did Hubby think it was as funny? ;-)

Unfortunately that sense of humor ( similar to my own ) is risky with a naive and insular population. I must restrain my usual jocular manner in class.

They love to ask me if I ever smoked. My answer ... less than Obama.
