What NYC Educator and Mr. Talk forgot to mention in their posts about teacher choice money was Mulgrew's last line:

You're absolutely right. Furthermore, the fact that we're not getting a raise may very well mean we're taxed at a lower level. I don't know what the hell we could have been thinking.
You forgot that we can only deduct a percent of it if we itemize. They also said we can’t buy chalk and other supplies.
