Did you read in the Times that Bloomie now wants pre-K and K tested--some tests up to 90 minutes!!

Insane!!!

This used to be a time for these kids to socialize. Remember the centers around the K room? No more. All taken away to make room for academics.

Bloomie wants the K and pre K tested so one of his educorporate friends can get yet another lucrative contract with the DOE using the usual invalid, unstandardized testing instruments. I am convinced that the early elementary discipline problems would be alleviated by going back to real pre K and kindergarten. They were nurturing places where children learned about themselves and the world around them. Children learned how to socialize via playing. Now children are just seen as testing vehicles and opportunities for faux educational reform and nice fat contracts for friends of BloomKleinGarten.

Love the cartoon--let's pass it on to the stupid administrators who probably need a Venn diagram to understand it!
