It is wonderful to not need someone watching your back, to be able to teach the way you want to teach, to not worry about having someone walk in on you at any time or to stare you down through the door of your classroom.
It's wonderful not to worry about the program you will be teaching, to know your hours and your classes were not dealt based on revenge.
It is wonderful not to be responsible for helping kids overcome shitty home lives.
It is wonderful that the only thing you are accountable for is keeping the kids engaged and for doing the job of teaching, to not be held accountable for kids who don't come to class, don't work or don't have the intellectual ability to succeed.
It is wonderful not to be working for the DOE anymore. I'm an idiot. I should have done this years ago.
