More On Abstract Art
Lynda Beglis created a work of art by putting holes in the bottom of a paint can and letting the paint drip on an asymetrical canvas. To me, it did not look any different than this piece I found in the park.
Art is extremely little about making something that looks appealing to your average Joe. Most artists couldn't give a crap what the average Joe thinks about their art - it's about them expressing their feelings without words. Art - even "art" as you put it, is the purest expression of emotion - whether we like it or not.

Let's face it: Some "art" is not art!
