Nassau County Sucks

A big fine arts crafts fair had been advertised in Newsday so we thought we'd go and possibly spend some money.  At the gate we were greeted with a $10 charge because we are not residents of the county.

Well, we gave them a big FU and turned around.  I feel sorry for the vendors at Christopher Morley.  I bet they lost lots of money with this policy that discriminates against outsiders.  If they are smart, they will sell their wares somewhere else next year.

I guess they didn't want you riffraff from the other side of the county border. Maybe they saw it as a fund raising opportunity as well. Nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Write a letter to Ed Mangano or whoever is in charge over at Nassau County, parks and recreation (this is almost like Bloomberg style).

I just went to the Nassau County agency page, and there is apparently a new surcharge from Memorial Day up until Labor Day.

"NEWS BRIEF: Beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, non-Nassau County residents will be charged a $10 parking fee on weekends."

From this Nassau County resident, that does suck. Since Christopher Morley is so close to the Queens border relatively sort of close to Suffolk County, they could be making some enemies for the summer season.

P.S. Ed Mangano, Nassau County Executive is a Republican. I think he may be up for election.

He's not worth the time it would take to write.
