What A Wonderful Example

Bristol Palin's fiance has dropped out of high school to take a job on the North Slope oil fields as an apprentice electrician.

Sarah Palin is encouraging this. What a wonderful example our VP wannabe is setting for the youth of America.

Okay, I read the article . . . how do you get that Palin encouraged him to drop out? Or am I missing something?
I agree that it's a pretty dumb move to drop out of school; however, if he does complete his electrician apprenticeship, he can make fairly good money. One of my family members is an electrician, and he makes 3 times what I do as a teacher each year, working only about 6 months out of the year.

She is pushing them to get married. Most high school drop outs cannot become electricians. It is a hard field to get into. Most high school drop outs do not have the opportunities he will have.

Pushing marriage at that young age is condoning dropping out.

It's a trend in the family. Do the math on the oldest Palin kid. That was another "shotgun but not" wedding.

I'll say it again... Abstinence only education? How's that workin for ya?

I'll be glad when the election's over and we no longer have to hear about the governor of Alaska and her brood!

First it sends a terrible message about the importance of education.
Palin/McCain cannot run on improving education is they approve of drop outs.

Second, even if electricians make more money, he should still complete his last year of school and take a part-time job to be near his new family.

And with the Palin connections, he will get that electricians job, but at least he will have his diploma.
