Moriah is not the only one. I can't retire but I am leaving public education. I don't teach in New York but everything I read about in New York pops up without fail in my district six months later. I am looking at alternative schools, nonprofits, and private schools. As a special education teacher with high standards, I can't stand what my district is doing to my kids.

I do not know this teacher or what her circumstances are, but retirement is a pretty nice place to be and not many people have that option.
