Mt Edith Cavell

Valley of the Wild Flowers--If you come in July you can really see the flowers in full bloom. It is so wierd--glaciers and flowers within yards of each other.

The flora in High Line Park must be based on the Canadian Rockies. At least NYC got that right.

The only trees I have ever been taller than.

Glacial lake and the glacier.

More glaciers and lots of clouds

Good Brews

While in Canada, I only drank Canadian brews.

My husband ordered a diet coke and I ordered one of these. The bartender, rather than the waitress who took our order brought our drinks. I was shocked when he handed me the beer. When I asked him how he knew I wanted it, he said "Women drink Honey Brown, men don't." Honey Brown has always been my favorite beer but now I have to rethink it. I hate drinking something that is only associated with one sex.

My blogging buddy The P is Not Silent introduced me to the next two beers.

I'm proud to say that I drank every one of these and more.

Maligne Lake

These roots made walking the trail easier.

I took so many pictures of this butterfly that when I looked quickly, I could see the wings flapping from my stills. I love this camera.

It was cool seeing how pine cones grow

And, of course, a mountain and clouds.

Maligne Lake, a beautiful spot in Jasper

Maligne Canyon

Aside from hiking up mountains, we hiked down canyons. Who would have ever imagined that the city girl in me would be so enraptured with lakes, water falls and creeks.

Medicine Lake

This beautiful lake dries up every winter. No one is exactly sure where the water goes. The Natives who lived here years ago thought it was some sort of magic and thus the name, Medicine Lake.
I am going to take lessons (if I can find a good course with a great teacher) or read books and really learn how to use this camera. We met lots of great people along the way that gave me mini lessons. They inspired me to master this machine.
