My pretty red boots got all yucked up when I sunk into a big pile of melted and dirty snow/mud. At least I was wearing boots. My feet would never have survived without them.
We got to walk on a real glacier. There are bus tours and hiking tours but we did those in Alaska a few years ago so we opted to do the walk ourselves. Imagine, driving up to a point, getting out of your car and going for a stroll on a glacier. It was great.
What I couldn't believe was how many stupid people tried to do the walk in flip flops, shorts and tee shirts. How could they not expect a glacier to be freezing cold?
