DOE E-Mail Bad!



Looking for my program, I went looking in my DOE e-mail and found this instead.

Where is the prep time promised?
Why is it that programs have not been mailed out this way?

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2009 - ALL STAFF RETURN

Welcome Back
Teacher time is 8:00 am to 2:50 pm.

7:30 am - 8:00 am - Breakfast for the Staff
8:00 am - 8:40 am - Auditorium-Plenary (Distribution of Packets with Student Materials)
9:00 am - 10:15 am - Group # 1
10:15 am - 11:15 am - Group # 2

11:30 am - 12:30 pm - Lunch

12:30 pm - 2:00 pm - Department Meetings/Classroom Setup
2:00 pm - 2:50 pm - Right to know/Chancellor Regulations

Teachers will receive the following:
Chancellors Regs. (MUST SIGN)
Teacher Handbook
Right to Know
List of resources
School Calendar
Triple A Handbook

ALL THIS WILL BE PUT ON "THUMB DRIVES" WHICH TEACHERS WILL SIGN FOR AT THE LAST SESSION.

Um...so you get an hour and half to have a meeting AND set up your classroom?! WTF?!

hey, at least you got an agenda of day 1. i still haven't gotten a program or schedule for the year. i was under the impression, however, that the student's sept 9 return date was pushed back from the 8th so that teachers could have the 8th as a classroom setup day. might want to check the city press release on that one: http://gothamschools.org/2009/06/25/school-to-start-sept-9-not-sept-8-after-principal-protest/

A thought- maybe we should all forward these schedules to Mike Mulgrew and see what happens.

You don't know your schedule, you go back the 8th, and kids arrive on the 9th? Wow. We went back the 27th, with meetings everyday this week also, and kids start the 8th. How can you prepare?
