To Be An Authentic Leader....

"To be an authentic leader requires you to be genuine and to have a passion for your purpose; you must practice your values, lead with your heart, develop connected relationships, and have the self-discipline to get results."

I got this off of a friend's facebook page. I don't know where she quoted this from, but I loved it and wanted to share it here. I hope she doesn't mind. I don't think she will.

(Not being able to sleep is a bitch! I can't believe I am doing this at 3:40 in the morning.)

Welcome to my world. I am trying ambien 10mg before 7pm. Last night they worked but I got up a bit too early, but not as groggy as I feel with the 15mg. I need to be up at 5am this Tuesday for a show. Decided to take car service at 6:30. Hope I don't fall asleep in the audience.

This is so true in my building. Our Principal is authentic, has a heart for the kids, but my current AP lacks heart, passion and is certainly NOT authentic! When do they find these people and how don't Principals see through their phoniness!

APs really ought to be great teachers who have something to share. All too often, you get these people who are self-serving, self-important, upwardly mobile pinheads who want to "get out of the classroom,"--the sort who never should have been in a classroom to begin with.

Fortunately for kids, there are still a lot of really good teachers who like being teachers. You can't really blame teachers like that for not wanting to run departments full of crazy people like us.
