Isn't it great how they already know how safe and easy it will be for the children to get to school tomorrow?

He doesn't care. And he knows most teachers live in LI where the situation is supposed to get worse overnight.

I don't have a problem with teachers having to go to work. Many people work in industries where they can't even take a sick day. My husband worked in one of those. We are lucky that we can take a sick day. I have a problem with forcing kids out and with making the decision so early.
Hey now, all is not lost:
"While we continue to monitor the weather, all indications are that schools will be open tomorrow. If conditions become worse than expected and schools do have to be closed, we will inform parents immediately."

It's wonderful to have a mayor who knows in advance how much it will snow. I guess when you have that much money, nothing else matters.
I'm reminded of the song from "Fiddler on the Roof" where Tevye the milkman sings"
"And it won't make one bit of difference if I'm right or if I'm wrong,
When you're rich, they think you really know..."
hey, the parks department just advised people to stay out of parks and to use caution near street trees. i can't imagine it'll get safer as temperatures drop, and things will still be frozen solid with high winds tomorrow morning. i'm sure the kids will be perfectly safe getting to school and that there's no reason to even consider otherwise. riiiiight.
