Suit's Bitching

Suit was bitching today because so many math teachers took off Tuesday to avoid the Election Day staff undevelopment. About 1/3 of the department avoided the day like the plague. Instead of bitching, he should be praising us. The math department has the best attendance in the building. We come in on teaching days. Our students are important to us. We know that no learning takes place with a substitute teacher. Everyone needs a day for R & R occasionally. He should be kissing our feet for doing it when classes are not in session.

It's so true. In our building, the math dept. tends to be the most disciplined and hard working on average, but we always go through these excruciating PDs that make no type of sense. The next PD that comes around, my mental health will be in question too just for one day ;-) ...

Bravo to the your Math Department from the "Green Berets of teaching"--the Special Education Department.

I did absolutely nada for PD!

This just goes to show what an inflated sense of self-importance administration has. Rather than thinking that everyone needs a mental health day every now and then, and be grateful it's done on PD day, they'll annoyed because people didn't feel the need to listen to their rantings. MUCH better to screw over the kids and miss a teaching day. Idiots.

People who have to run assemblies labor under the misconception that their talks have some sort of intrinsic value. Well over 99% of the meetings I've had to attend have been crap.

The principal should be grateful he didn't have to reach into his budget and hire subs. Now there's more money for his next gala luncheon.
