Cable Story

Chi Town Girl reminded me of how we were the last family on the block to get cable.  While she is still the only person without cable, I wasn't far behind.

It was a rainy day.  A young black man was walking up and down the block ringing bells, trying to get people to sign up for cable.  I was bored.  I listened to his pitch and said yes.  He was in shock.  No one ever said yes.  My husband was in shock.  He had been wanting it for a long time.  Cheap me finally had given in.

Thanks for the shout-out!

Well, maybe if there was a guy walking around, ringing a bell on my block, I might have given in, too. ;-)

I still don't have it. Although I use Netflix and Hulu to catch up on shows I don't get. I love many of the decorating shows on HGTV, especially on those homes not selling. Last night Selling New York was on, and I am waiting for those episodes to become available online. It's nice to know how little space my imaginary Lotto winnings can buy.

@ Pissed Off- that makes sense as to why you decided to get cable. : )

I didnt have cable in my house until I was 20 years old. After the Twin Towers came down, it was time to get the cable, or I should say satellite at this point.
