Enough Already

The phone didn't have to ring at 6:30 asking me to volunteer at a shelter.  I've  said NO at least 10 times.
I'M NOT GOING, ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!!

Someone at GS said they got a call telling teachers to report to shelters to work/help on Friday, they weren't asked to volunteer. I got the Walcott call today at 6:30 too. First responders got tons of calls, but they will be paid for volunteering. Bloomberg is so far off his rocker.

Stay dry everyone!

Sometime early this morning I got a phone call from none other than Dennis Walcott telling me in his silky phony voice how teachers have always "volunteered". He doesn't know how often many of us, during our careers, have felt like we're volunteering and not actually engaging in a career in education. Luckily, we shut the ringer off on our bedroom phone so not only did I not heed his call, but I deleted it as soon as I heard the word "volunteer". My husband had wisely previously responded with "no". Without having been asked, I have been there and done that. In view of how 9/11 first responders are being treated, I'd rather go to the dentist than volunteer, especially when asked by Walcott or his master Bloomberg. I consider all these calls harassment and will complain to my local city councilman if I receive any more of these presumptuous intrusive calls. Plus, I just RETIRED!!! Didn't they get that memo??
