Back In The Saddle

I was sorry I decided to go back to work.  Planning a lesson is not fun.  And then, when I had to turn down a trip to wine country because I had to work I really got pissed at myself.

In spite of all this, when the phone rang asking me to do a coverage today before my class, I immediately said yes and then kicked myself again as I had to put away my Nook and head out the door to class. But, when I walked out of the door with that familiar bag thrown over my shoulder, my mood changed.  Instead of a weight, I felt wings.  I walked into a class of primarily freshman, remedial math students who were eager to start their college career. To have an attentive group listening to me and to watch the expression of a woman who finally got it was wonderful.  My only regret was that I would not be with that particular group again.

After a quick dinner with my husband, I went back to teach my own class. Two and a half hours later, I walked out, exhausted, wondering how I ever managed to teach nights after working full days and feeling great, looking forward to my next classes on Wednesday, two at my new school and one here.

I'm still confused?? How many schools are you working? Are they both colleges??

If Wednesday is your last teaching day, that gives you a nice long weekend to do fun side trips.

Sweet Girl--I have no hesitation

Schoolgal--two different colleges with one class from college at Packemin-4 classes in all.

I teach Mon, Wed and Thurs. I know I am nuts but I need the activity.

So you are still at Packemin?? Is Mr. AP still your supervisor??? If so, than yeah that is nuts!!

So all together you are at 3 different locations?

Do this for a semester and see how you like it? Usually college semesters end in Dec or Jan--so will you be getting a long intersession to travel or does the HS class go by the DoE calendar???

I am confused, how does Packemin have a college class? If it does, is the DOE renting out that space? I don't get it...

The class is at Packemin. It is a college class given to high school students. The HS has much to gain because it costs them nothing. the students gain HS and college credit.

But who is the supervisor? (Wish I had read that deleted comment)

Supervisor is that refreshing person from the college who told us we won't be judged by passing rates.

As for the deleted comment, it was mine--too many typos.
