I Want To Barf

I just looked at PD schedule for Monday:

One hour of learning to use a program I've learned to use so well I can do it in my sleep.

One hour of technology.

One hour of regents analysis. (This will provide good blog material.)

One hour of PSAT training.

If not for the UFT luncheon, I feel I would be struck with a deadly virus on Monday and need the day off.

We had a half day of PDD yesterday. 45 minutes of why we didn't meet AYP last year (only one high school in my district made AYP last, and it was the magnet school of the arts); 15 minutes of being harangued by the principal about listening to our voice mail, answering emails, and not using school email to be assy to others; a raffle for a pack of copy paper and some pencils, and one hour of department meeting to figure out how to bribe the kids to do well on FCAT this year. One of my colleagues actually was sick yesterday, and he was the lucky one!

What do we need PSAT training for? Are they making us take them to see if we're still smart enough to be teachers?
