Question From A Friend


Are Chihuahuas good with kids or do they bite them??????

I don't know - they always seem so fearful and unsure of themselves that they - the ones I've known - seen a bit snippy, as if that will make them appear more ferocious.

Don't think I would want one around my children.

I had a chihuahua, until about 3 weeks after giving birth to my daughter. She was always a pretty mild dog, but she became quite jealous after birth. It would not have worked to have a child chasing her or playing with her. It just wasn't in her temperament.

She's better off with this single, older woman that I found. They dote on each other and go visit other older folks in their homes and nursing homes.

generally speaking, the smaller the dog the worse they are for kids. If the person already has kids and gets a Chihuahua as a puppy, it will probably be ok with his/her kids... but kids' friends will not be safe.

Get something bigger. And not a purebreed...
