Becoming Really Rich

stephen Colbuffington Post: How Long Will Stephen Colbert Repost Huff Post?
Ariana Huffington made her money, in part, by relying on bloggers to fill her pages with stories, bloggers she does not pay.

I'm strongly considering not submitting posts any longer.  I don't need to self promote and I certainly don't want to make the rich richer.

(Steve Colbert really ripped into her this week about using him without paying him.)

I ignored the requests from the HuffPost. My audience is far smaller, but actually wants to read what I write. And, at my blog I am not on an equal stage with people with whom I violently disagree.

I do feel similarly about those who post at Gotham Schools. I understand that they want to reach many more people, but I am uneasy about the role they end up playing in promoting GS itself, esp. with its stealthy pro-charter orientation.

(they have not asked me)

It sounds like my story. Asked by HuffPost and declaimed and not asked by Gotham Schools. However, I think I am more comfortable blogging on my blog only.
