Last Day

Today was the last full day of classroom instruction. Notices were sent to the students who must take regents exams. Once again the administration does the unbelievable. They waited until today to let the kids know where they would be taking the exams. Many of them were not in school today. Oh well, I guess it is the teacher's fault that that not everyone received a notice! Perhaps we should hand deliver them to the kids at home.

Hi, I'm a parent with children who stated in the system this year. Thanks for blogging and sharing your perspective. Is this Chancellor/DOE especially indifferent to the teachers and parents? Mayoral control was supposed to make for more accountability but the Chancellor seems to be running amuck.

It seems to me that there are no consequences when the mayor or Chancellor fail. As in any industry it is always us on the bottom that must take the hits. No one asks the classroom teacher what they think is best. Thanks for your comments.
