Small Class Size

With 18 students I can:

1.  Get to know every one's strengths and weaknesses.

2.  Make sure everyone is doing assignments.

3.  Spend a lot of time checking homework and exams.

4.  Focus on the individual and any questions or misunderstandings a student might have.

5,  Get them to succeed.

(18 is the size of my college class this semester.)

I couldn't agree more. I've also taught classes that size. Sadly, the high school kids could use it more than the college students.

What a shame that demagogues like Bloomberg need to talk down things that could really put children first just to save money for their obscenely rich BFFs.

College kids need the small classes too! they might even need them more because so many are anonymous in big lecture halls.

couldnt agree with you more.

By the way, 18 is the cap for universal prek classes all over the city (and I am sure in NYS as well with other districts). Pluse the UPK teacher gets an assistant in the classroom too because the age and extra needs of the children.
