Doesn't Matter What We Say Or Do, It Is Still Our Responsibility
Mathematicama, after reading the previous post, reminded me of a post I wrote in September where I identified kids who did not belong but were not moved. Thanks!
I say, I'm enthused to see some of you blasted pedagogues are finally getting the message! I'm impressed with your understanding and I'm pleased to offer you a position at our Smellington Charter School, which will be launching in September. You'll find whatever you do will most certainly be your fault, and you won't be encumbered with any union to get between your hearing about it.
And then in June, if the student does not graduate, it will STILL be OUR fault. Guidance will come to us asking isn't there some work that can be made up, or a retest, or a POSTER (for crying out loud- will the art teacher teach our trig and factoring for us?!)that will ensure a D- on the report card. Then when we say no, they go running to the AP about what a b**** I am and how I don't want to help this student blah blah blah...No matter that I stayed after 2 days a week, 2 hours a day for extra help. HOWEVER- since I document everything, I don't think any of my grades have ever been changed. At least that I know of. Anyway- the point is - if I remember you posting this, and I read your posts every day- why can't the people in your school remember what you told them???

Cheers!
Smellington is still around???
If I had a dollar every time you posted about a kid placed incorrectly and trying to get it resolved, I would be going to Aruba too!
