The rantings of a teacher who retired from the classroom but not from education.
And it did help!!
So funny! I was out shopping today and turned around to see a Chihuahua in my face! A girl was carrying her"pet" in a handbag. All I could do was laugh!
Not going to make it easier this week....Our supt. called in 8 teachers in our tiny district and informed them they would be non-renewed for '11-12. A mix of old and new. The "old" were pretty darn good teachers, their leadership and the fact they can retire sealed their doom. I have a feeling had I not been planning to retire this year, I would be "retired" also. The lay-offs were done at the end of the week, toward the end of the school day. To make matters even worse, we were told last month that no one would lose their job, the retirements and resignations would take care of our budget strain. I am sure there will a lot of scared faces on Monday, all wondering if they were next.
I looked at the graphic and laughed!! Thanks, PO'd!! At least it's not a deadly disease or a natural disaster; it's just another manic Monday...
