Now it is called something like Ambassadors for Diversity due to public pressure.
They use a lot of Project Adventure activities to learn about themselves and others. Also, Fox News did a great series (imagine that) called "The Truth About Hate" and featured a PA session on it. You can get the full series http://www.glsen.org/cgi-bin/iowa/all/booklink/record/1578.html or see pieces from it here http://www.pa.org/videos/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536003.post-6519754566779650252008-03-27T19:38:00.000-04:002008-03-27T19:38:00.000-04:00I think it takes "guts" for many of the high schoo...I think it takes "guts" for many of the high school boys to even attend such a meeting. It would be much better if they'd try a policy like, "Your sex life is none of our damn business and we're not gonna bother you about it no matter what."

In fact, I'd like to see that policy instituted nationally.NYC Educatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12188066345722781723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536003.post-14277140253325765802008-03-27T14:03:00.000-04:002008-03-27T14:03:00.000-04:00Thank you so much for advising a GSA! Last year we had about 500 students at our school participate, either as silent participants or active supporters. I was actually able to remain silent as a teacher as well.

Please let me know if you would like any advice!WHS Cheer Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05978063062281708182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536003.post-57950022149465686102008-03-27T05:00:00.000-04:002008-03-27T05:00:00.000-04:00Do you know that in a school in Chelsea named afte...Do you know that in a school in Chelsea named after a famous civil rights leader who happen to be gay there is gay bashing and the Principal has discouraged such student organizations from forming?

SHOCKING!JUSTICE not "just us"https://www.blogger.com/profile/05502604957951804040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29536003.post-85374427983266754152008-03-26T22:25:00.000-04:002008-03-26T22:25:00.000-04:00Sometimes it's worth staying an extra period knowi...Sometimes it's worth staying an extra period knowing you are making a difference.
